Production Housing is a specialty of the architectural profession that focuses on sales appeal as well as construction cost awareness. The designs include multiple elevation styles for the same plan as well as plan options for the variety of elevations offered. This allows the speculative builder to control the costs as the same plan is repeated and value engineered – while offering the public a choice of plans and styles. In a manner of speaking the buyer can customize a home to satisfy individual functional and esthetic requirements and desires. DMA has produced a number of such designs and has a library available for discussion.

Rendered elevations and floor plans are an invaluable tool used by the developer to aid in sales. The large presentation boards add an attractive, professional and informative ambiance to the sales office and the smaller scale brochure pages allow the prospective buyers to take a clear picture of the home with them for future reference.

These example some of five large presentation boards prepared for Somerset Development by Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc.. Rendered site plans were also done to enhance the sales program. The site plans showed landscaping and unit placement and added vibrant and tasteful color to the display.

Clairpointe at Victoria Park
Detroit, Michigan

Clairpointe at Victoria Park was one of the first mid-priced, conventionally financed, housing developments on the near eastside of the Detroit riverfront. The "gated" community related to the surrounding residential area with its traditional rooflines, detailing and material selections. The project experienced rapid sales and Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc. quickly produced designs for the next phase.
