Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc. and its predecessor firms have been providing services for the Edward Rose and Sons Building Company (one of the nations largest privately owned developers and builders of single and multi-family housing) for thirty years. Architectural services have been provided for their offices in Farmington Hills, Flint and Kalamazoo – in Michigan and Indianapolis, Indiana. Site planning, unit and building design, preparation of construction documents and project inspection represents the involvement Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc. has had for major developments in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Virginia and South Carolina.

The Edward Rose Company has also had DMA provide plans for condominium projects and their 70,000 square foot Kalamazoo headquarters office building. We continue our involvement with new designs and plans for apartment and community buildings in five locations.

Woodcrest Commons
Pontiac, Michigan

Woodcrest Commons involved the selective demolition and extensive renovation of a deteriorated 30-year-old FHA development surrounded by a well-maintained stable neighborhood. The original 153 duplex building development was redesigned to provide 226 completely renovated two bedroom townhouse styled units. Additionally, selective demolition provided the required land for a clubhouse facility and community recreation area.

Woodcrest Commons was honored with a Certificate of National Recognition from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for urban development excellence.

Michigan Beach Cooperative

The scope of the Michigan Beach Cooperative project included selective renovations of all of the units. This included the installations of new exterior sash, kitchen and bath renovations, fire safety system, single ply roof and insulation, modular boiler conversion, installation of air conditioners and parking garage renovations.
