Condominiums

Chanticleer Condominiums
Southfield, Michigan

Our first development of luxury condominiums – the attractiveness of this quite well received project was aided by the dramatic and prominent site on which it was placed. The rear elevations of the four different unit types became the main design feature because of the exposure to the very heavily trafficked – five lane – Twelve Mile Road. The eighty units were done in phases with the later phase a bit downsized from the first. An indication of the success of this project is that units that are ready to be sold are referred to a waiting list of buyers. "Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery" – the plans for Chanticleer were "copied" by another developer for two projects in Farmington Hills – one being Pine Knolls Condominiums on Middlebelt Road.

Traditional in style, this complex of 1,800 sf units successfully met the conservative needs of the community by having full basements, 2 car garages and separate kitchen/nook areas. So well received is this project that an additional adjacent site is strongly being considered for the third phase.

Without changing the basic floor plan, buyers in this unique development can select options of extra bedrooms, loft/studies or storage rooms to suit their style of living. There is very little difference between end and interior units making selection of location on the site an easy and pleasant process.

Medium priced to meet competition these two story dwellings are grouped in five and six unit buildings. Because the site has a very pronounced slope most of the plans and elevations were designed with walk-out lower levels. This became an important sales feature as the project has sold quite well. Privacy of exterior amenities such as decks and patios were a primary concern. The second floor plans offered a number of combinations of lofts and bedrooms.
