Police/Water and Building Department
Bloomfield Township, Michigan

The need to expand the facilities for the police, water and building departments while maintaining their continuous operation was a part of this project's design requirements.

With the cooperation of the owner and contractor, the police facilities were enlarged and reorganized and the water and building departments were expanded by 50% to meet growing community needs.

Judicial Services Center
District Court 41a
Probation Department

Sterling Heights, Michigan

This new facility provides a well-organized and pleasant environment for a great variety of functions. The district court brings together people from all walks of life. While the paths of many must cross, it is also required that the routes of others must be isolated.

The lower level of this building contains the very active magistrates' courtroom and the round-the-clock activities of the probation department. Prospective jurors gather prior to jury selection and employees relax from their duties in a lounge separate from public areas.

The lobby welcomes the public to the court administration area and the three courtroom facilities. In the more secure private corridor, court clerks distribute files and data, defendants are securely led from their wait in the guard/cell area and judges and their staff circulates between their chambers and the courtroom.

48th District Court
Probation Department

Bloomfield Township, Michigan

Constructed in hilly terrain, the design takes advantage of the site by providing a lower level grade exit and exterior employee lounge area well concealed from a busy main thoroughfare.

Conceived and designed with the construction management firm - Weatherston Construction, Inc. - this facility is a full service district court and probation department.

The building and parking relates efficiently with the adjacent Township Complex.
