Fire Stations

Central Fire Station #1
Sterling Heights, Michigan

Located at one of the busiest intersections in the city, the new fire station was designed for both prominence and function. It was the desire of the Fire Department to build a modern state-of-the-art facility that recalled the designs of the older fire Houses. This was accomplished by the use of a traditional brick color and pattern, a hip roof and large glass overhead doors. Anchored by a 50 foot high hose drying/clock tower, the 16,800 sf facility incorporates 5 apparatus bays, living quarters for 12 on duty fire fighters, an exercise room, storage facilities as well as an emergency command center.

Tawas, Michigan

Located in a rural community along the Lake Huron shoreline – 15 miles southwest of Tawas City – this building was designed to house the equipment and apparatus for the volunteer fire department.

The project program also included the Township’s needs for a supervisory board meeting room, community hall, kitchen, office and storage spaces.
