Old Kent Bank

After several commissions with Old Ken Bank, Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc. were hired to transform a former Post Office into a branch bank with drive-thru and ATM facilities. Currently there was an operational Old Kent Bank on an outlot adjacent to the new location. Working with the community and property owner, site plan approval was obtained and a corporate design developed to provide not only improved banking facilities for the community but also a corporate training center for Old Kent Bank. In addition to the internal improvements, the exterior upgrade was beneficial to the community, developer and Old Kent Bank.

Franklin Savings and Loan
Southfield, Michigan

The exterior design reflects the owners' desire to present the Pennsylvania colonial feeling - indicative of The Franklin period - the bank's trademark.

The interior represents the efficient open plan of today's smaller banking facilities. The feeling is one of friendliness and trust without the loss of security.

Michigan National Bank
Southeastern Michigan

Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc has provided a variety of services in southeastern Michigan for Michigan National Bank. These services include site plan approval, exterior façade renovations, full and partial interior branch renovations along with interior space planning. Although none were actually built, Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc. assisted the Houston, Texas based company on numerous local projects including the three locations listed above. Services provided included straightforward site plan approvals, complex zoning & planning variance processes as well as the preparation of complete construction documents for one location. Experience & reputation with the local municipalities was a significant reason for Guardian selecting Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc. as their local architect.
