This creative solution of combining a new oil change/office facility with an existing car wash was accomplished with the cooperation of a forward thinking city administration.  The stacking of all cars leaving the oil change is combined with the car stacking for the car wash to avoid the traffic on Telegraph Road.  An innovative owner supplies a free car wash with every oil change.

The use of brick and decorative concrete masonry units give this attractive building a permanent and substantial quality.

BP Gas Station and Convenience Store
Southfield, Michigan

As one of three gas stations in Southfield done at the same time by Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc., this was the most difficult to design for traffic patterns and vehicle maneuvering.  We developed an excellent relationship with the city planners and traffic personnel in providing the safest location for approaches.  While the pumps and canopy were fixed in place, the building was located for safety, visibility and to maximize on site parking.  The unique building style was created to provide an elegance not often seen in facilities of this type.

Marathon Gas Station and Convenience Store
Southfield, Michigan

One of three tear down and rebuild gas stations and convenience stores done in Southfield at the same time by Dorchen/Martin Associates, Inc., this facility maximizes the site for parking and quantity of pumps.  The modern exterior style was created from our imaginative use of brick and an exterior insulation facing surface.  This busy and highly visible location has been successful and has received the praise of many passerby.
